White Aluminum Oxide is made from high purity Bayer process alumina. Careful control of raw materials and furnace practices produces the highest purity crystals with an optimum crystal structure. These crystals are then crushed in such a way as to develop block formats with a high bulk density.
White Fused Alumina has been used in the grinding of heat sensitive alloys for many years; taking advantage of it’s friability and cool cutting ability. This has made it a popular abrasive tool for precision grinding of high speed steels, segments and internal grinding wheels.

Technical Parameters:
The chemical constitution of alumina is Al2O3 at a composition of ≥99.4%, with SiO2 composition of ≤0.04%, Fe2O3 at ≤0.04% and finally Na2O at ≤0.30%.
The physical properties of alumina includes a colour of white, with a Mohs hardness of 9, true density of 3.9 g/cm3, a bulk density of 1.60-1.95g/cm3 and an Ig-Loss of ≤0.09%
Applications:
White corundum abrasive is suitable for many applications related to the surface improvement of high-end products, processes, and hardware. Using this abrasive can effectively remove rust, decontaminate, clean stains, and increase the adhesion of coatings on iron workpieces; for aluminum workpieces the whit corundum cleaning can further enhance the surface and produce a glossy effect; and for copper workpieces it can help create a matte effect.
In addition to being used as a solid coating abrasive tool, wet or dry sand blasting, the white corundum abrasive is also applicable for grinding, polishing and crafting of high-grade refractory materials often used in crystal and electronic industry. Other common uses include frosting of glass products, matte effect on engraved plastic items, and plush fabric handling and pattern making for fabric such as denim.
